CoreFX to help companies navigate Amazon’s new dietary supplement requirements.

Amazon has updated its policy on dietary supplements sold on its platform. The policy changes are in response to ongoing concerns about the quality and safety of some dietary supplements sold online.

The key changes are:

  • Dietary supplement products must now be verified through a third-party Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) organization to ensure they meet Amazon's safety standards. Amazon is using three TIC organizations Eurofins, NSF and UL Solutions.

  • Sellers must use Amazon's Manage Your Compliance dashboard to initiate testing for each of their dietary supplement products with one of the approved third-party TIC organizations.

  • Once testing is completed and the product is confirmed compliant, the seller can list the product for sale on Amazon.

  • Products must be manufactured in a facility that complies with FDA created GMPs, such as cGMPs outlined in 21 CFR 111/117.

Amazon is tightening its requirements for dietary supplements to improve product safety and quality, requiring third-party testing and certification before products can be listed.

What does CoreFX Ingredients think about these new requirements?

We acknowledge views that these regulations could be burdensome and costly for some and that stricter requirements could increase the price of supplements and stifle innovation. Additionally, we understand fears that disclosure of proprietary blends could give competitors an unfair advantage.

At the same time CoreFX sees the need for increased oversight (particularly on Amazon) to ensure consumer safety and build trust. Overall we believe stricter regulations on Amazon could help legitimize the industry and improve consumer confidence in supplements overall.

CoreFX Ingredients understand that complying with these new rules could be challenging, particularly for smaller companies. As the industry’s leading supplier of MCT oil powder and powdered Omega’s, CoreFX can help you navigate Amazon's New Dietary Supplement Policy.
